Pretty white apartment in Malmö

My good friend Malin used to live in this beautiful, light and airy apartment in St Knuts, Malmö. She found that it's on the market again and the current owner has given it a big lick of white paint and put their  own style stamp on it. It was lovely when Malin left it and it's lovely again, in a different way.

I spy many little bits and pieces I love including the Eames plastic armchair rocker and the Marimekko printed textile on the bedroom wall. I've also been thinking more and more about getting a round mirror for my hallway like the one they have. Hay has a fab 'strap mirror' which I've got my eye on!

Anything that stands out for you?

I'm posting a little earlier today as I'm just nipping off to London - exciting! have a lovely day!

A pretty white apartment in Gothenburg

It's Friiiiiiiiiday, woohoo!! To celebrate let's go for a classic contemporary all white affair with this beautiful Gothenburg apartment built in 1939 and for sale via Alvhem (it's been a while since I've done a  'for sale in Sweden' post - at least 7 days...!). I spy Scandinavian designer pieces, mid century finds and vintage prints organised in the relatively small space of 39 metres square. I think the creative people at Alvhem who also own the shop in the last image, have done a fab job.

Alvhem
It's quite impressive how the white makes the space look so much larger than it is. Alvhem has been really clever with the room layout too.

What do you think?

So that's it from me for this week, do you have any great plans for the weekend? Me, I'm off out with the girls tonight :) Oh and re-thinking a major room change in the house which requires lots of help from Pinterest of course! Have a lovely a couple of days and see you Monday!

Renovated vicarage in Southern Sweden

My crusade to sell homes in the South of Sweden and get you all to live here continues. Haha! But seriously, when I spotted this home over at La Maison D'Anna G which is currently for sale just outside Malmö, I simply coudn't resist sharing it with you! Decorated in white and muted, earthy tones which provide a stark contrast against the original dark wood beams, this converted vicarage is so beautiful! I can already see myself  hanging out on one of the chaise longues by the fire, now to find the 9 million crowns....

Worth sharing or not?! Ready to up sticks?!

White and wood Malmö apartment

It wouldn't be a usual week on My Scandinavian Home without showing a local Malmö apartment for sale! This lovely white and wood home is bang in the centre of town in the old quarter of Gamla Väster. I spy an Andy Warhol print, Arne Jacobsen series 7 chairs, and the Verner Panton Flowerpot pendant light. But what I spy most of all is the beautiful painting in the kitchen. It's amazing how one painting can make such a statement, I wonder who it's by?

Bo-laget
Such a lovely apartment. I told you there's something in the Southern Swedish air that makes everyone so stylish and creative :) is there anything you love in particular about this pad?
Hej då for now....

White with splashes of colour

Back in Southern Sweden today and to celebrate I bring you this Swedish home which, yup you've guessed it, was recently for sale! The owners have used a white canvas and added a touch of country, mid century, modern, scandinavian designer and lashes of bright coloured accessories to create a beautiful, unique, light and relaxed home.

I am particularly loving the chandelier! Anything that stands out for you?

As I was heading back to a decidedly colder Sweden last night I remembered a tip I was given by some Swedish friends on a ski trip. If it's minus temperatures outside, when you wake up in the morning don't wash your face. Instead allow the natural grease your body has produced as a base to protect your skin from the cold. Hmmmm.

Have you got any great tips on coping with the cold?!

White and wood home in Lomma

Hello! Back to something Scandinavian today and closer to home in the Southern Sweden west coast village of Lomma. This pretty white and wood home has been photographed by blogger and interior shop owner Daniella Witte for Nya Hem. I love how the pared back look has been softened by the use of patterned textiles for a homely feel.

Stylist: Suzanna Nilsson, Photographer: Daniella Witte for Nya Hem.
We're kind of used to seeing all white spaces so it's kind of interesting to see a wooden floor with a wooden ceiling, what do you think of this look?

Pictures shown with kind permission from Daniella.

I'm actually in London today (re-charging my British batteries for a few days). I can't believe I'll have lived in Sweden for 10 years next summer! This is definitely reflected in the way I have styled my home.  It's always nice to pop home though :)
